SOCITREL - SOCIEDADE INDUSTRIAL DE TREFILARIA, S.A., founded in 1971, is dedicated to the manufacture and sale of steel wire and welded mesh for a variety of applications: industry, agriculture, civil construction etc. and is currently the leading company in its field of activity and one of the most modern in Europe.

SOCITREL began by producing mild steel wire, thereafter developing towards more sophisticated products with a high content of carbon including steel wire for pre-stressed concrete.

Since the very outset it has been an ongoing concern of SOCITREL to manufacture quality products deploying technologies which are appropriate, modern and cost effective.

At the end of the 80’s and the start of the 90’s a series of Quality Management changes were effected not only to ensure product quality but to also demonstrate it.

As a consequence SOCITREL decided to certify one of its major products – steel wire for pre-stressed concrete.

The process resulted in the certification of company quality systems in accordance with ISO 9002.

SOCITREL believes that certification is not an objective per se but rather a means towards the ongoing evolution of better performance, thereby keeping the Company competitive.
